Our Mission

HealthCalc was built with one goal: to give everyone access to reliable health metrics without any sign-ups, subscriptions, or ads. We believe understanding your body is the first step toward better health decisions.

The Formulas We Use

BMI (Body Mass Index)

BMI = weight (kg) / height² (m). Categorised as Underweight (<18.5), Normal (18.5–24.9), Overweight (25–29.9), and Obese (≥30) per WHO guidelines.

BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate)

We use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, widely considered the most accurate for the general population:
Men: 10 × weight + 6.25 × height − 5 × age + 5
Women: 10 × weight + 6.25 × height − 5 × age − 161

Body Fat %

We use the U.S. Navy circumference method, which estimates body fat from neck, waist, and (for women) hip measurements relative to height.

Ideal Weight

We average three well-known formulas — Devine (1974), Robinson (1983), and Miller (1983) — to provide a balanced healthy-weight range.
